Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how the TrustCheck Nigeria website uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels. Last updated: 8 October 2026.
In short: the site works without cookies. Analytics and advertising tools load only if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, do the same kind of job. They help websites remember choices and help owners understand how a site is used.
2. What we use
| Item | Purpose | Type | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| tc-consent (browser storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics so we do not ask again | Essential | Until you clear your browser data |
| Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (for example _ga, _ga_*) | Shows which pages and buttons are used, such as WhatsApp clicks and form submissions | Analytics, only if switched on and accepted | Up to 2 years |
| Meta Pixel (for example _fbp) | Measures how well our adverts on Facebook and Instagram work | Advertising, only if switched on and accepted | Up to 3 months |
Analytics and advertising tools are switched off unless we have set them up, and even then they load only after you accept.
3. Fonts and other third-party content
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser contacts Google servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. This is needed to display the page correctly. Our Contact page also shows an embedded Google Map. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies under Google's policies. Links to WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook take you to those services, which have their own cookie and privacy rules.
4. Your choices
- When the cookie notice appears, choose Accept or Decline. If you decline, the website still works fully.
- To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings. The notice will appear again.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's privacy features. Some tools also offer an opt-out, such as the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. Changes
If we add new tools, we will update this table. The date at the top shows the latest version.
